GAMES

Pac-man Championship Edition DX
Rated: E
Price: $9.99

Ah Pac-man how I love you! You have brought joy to gamers since 1980 and have had some great games in that time but who would think that a pac-man game would be one of 2010's most fun games? Not me that's for sure. I have to say I didn't even know this game existed until about a month ago when I saw some gameplay on a website I just kind of ignored it thinking it as just going to be another pac-man game with nothing different from the other ones and I'll say it right now: I was wrong. Pac-man Championship Edition DX is the most fun I've had with a downloadable titles in a while! I mean I really can't stop playing this thing, there is just so many things you can do in it. Gone are the days of a measly 4 ghosts chasing our beloved yellow circle... thing, now you can get more than 50 on you at one time which adds to a lot of strategy if you want to wrack up those points! You get ghosts to follow you by going past them and waking them up and you choose when you want to get them all to turn blue which means you could wait til you had 100 ghosts on you if you wanted! That is if you could survive that long. There are a few different modes such as Score Attack, Time Attack and Free mode all which bring different ways to play this game. As you can probably already tell I can't recommend this game highly enough and it really is a breath of fresh air to pac-man fans and just fans of gaming in general. This game is an absolute gem and cannot be missed!

MOVIES

Love and Other Drugs
Rated: 14A

I went to see this movie on the weekend with my girlfriend expecting to see the standard, lame, ridiculously over the top lovey love stories that usually plague romantic comedies nowadays. I am glad to say that for the most part Love and Other Drugs did the rom-com genre particularly well. The plot is simple enough a guy starts selling Viagra, meets a girl well doing it, they start having casual sex and it obviously leads to something much more than that. I know what you're all thinking, "Mikey how does that sound different than any other romantic comedies?" Well to those people I have this to say, "SHUT THE HELL UP AND KEEP READING!" Now the reason it is particularly different is because there relationship starts completely based on sex and to me that seemed a lot more realistic than that love at first sigh crap that every other rom-com stuffs down our throats. Sure there are a lot of cliche lovey scenes such as one point where the guy is driving a car alongside a bus which his woman is inside of while he tries to yell at her from his car. While these scenes are kind of bleh and just stupid in my opinion I'm sure a lot of ladies out there will enjoy them because they obviously see all the other rom-coms with that shit in them. Special note should go out to Hank Azaria who plays a doctor in the movie as he steals he show whenever he's on screen which isn't surprising cause he's great in anything that he's in. Another note is that this movie has A LOT of nudity so gents you got a bunch of naked Anne Hathaway to enjoy (I know I enjoyed it greatly) and ladies you get to look at Jake Gyllenhal in all of his glory (Still sporting his Prince of Persia bust). While on the topic of nudity I have to say this movie should NOT be rated 14A in the least bit it is most definitely an R rated flick judging by all the boobs that you see in this thing. Maybe it's just me but how the hell does the rating system work in Canada? (Expendables is rated R yet this isn't?). As much as I despise the romantic comedy genre I can't help but say I enjoyed this; it's funny, mostly realistic, and actually pretty smart and it's because of these things that I highly recommend Love and Other Drugs if you like the genre or if you just want to see Anne Hathaway naked either way you'll enjoy yourself.
